Happy Birthday Charles Times Two

I am blessed with a wonderful father. My dad, Charles (Charlie), is a man that has a heart of gold.  In a quirk of fate, my son also named Charles (Charley) was actually born on my father's birthday of November 12th.  What better birthday gift could I have ever given him? Remembering the delivery of Charley is worth a smile and laugh; we were nearing midnight and almost going to miss the birthday window. Dad was a ball of nerves and had mentioned that I could just get on with it and do him the courtesy of having the baby on his birthday. (With a definite undertone of "if I knew what was good for me.")  I hope that my son can become the kind of man my father is.

We joyously celebrate my nephew Ledger's birthday on the 15th and brother-in-law Raymond on the 17th.  Four birthday boys so close together. My sisters and I decided to have a joint party for all these fellas at once.

Left to Right: Ledger Ross, 4 yrs.; Raymond Elliot, cresting the middle age hill -har har har; Case Hill (stowaway in the birthday picture); Charles Roy, 60 yrs; Charles Benjamin, 3 yrs.

So, now that the festivities are over it is back to soaping for me.  I will be having my first open house at my home the first weekend of December and really need to get in gear for prepping my inventory.  Cheers!

  1. That is so special for your dad and son! My mother-in-law shares a birthday with her oldest son, and his wife also has the same birthday (and my uncle too)! Crazy, huh?

BTW, your son is a little cutie! Love that smile. :)

  2. Your son is so cute. :)

My older son was born on my mom's birthday. I didn't even realize it at the time. Wasn't until she came to visit the next day and said "Well that's the nicest birthday present you ever gave me," that I remembered what day it was. lol

  3. That is the CUTEST cake I have ever seen! I had a much younger cousin that was obsessed with tractors. He would have loved that!
