Naturally, we were enjoying our delay. Snarfling one another in bed and reveling in the fact that we could be in our jammies awhile longer and not rush to get around for school. What that entails is general giddiness, tickling, smooching, and tangled warm limbs while we saw how far we could get with making a human pretzel.
You'd think with having the extra time in the morning, my kids would take advantage right? I offered eggies and toast, hot stovetop oatmeal with pumpkin apple butter. The whole warm shebang to lay in their guts like a warm ball of love. Nope. There's no accounting for taste; they wanted pop tarts. Little buggers don't know what they are missing, but I won't fight it on a morning full of smiles.
So to anyone out there having a bit of a lie in this morning, cheers!

My kids had Pop Tarts too! With chocolate milk, lol. Not exactly the breakfast of champions....we call almost everything by a different name. Usually whatever the kids mispronounced sticks around here. Mart-Mart=Walmart, KiKi-mao (kitty kitty meow)=our cat Luna, powder dangers= power rangers, MicahDonald's, etc etc...people probably think we are a family of dolts.
