Children of God

No matter how weak I am, where I fail, or fall short in celebrating and attending Mass - our faith in Father, Son, and Holy Spirit through the Catholic Church will always be strong and alive. Our children already know and love God. The music of Heaven is always singing in their little hearts.  And by golly, even though Corrina is only 5 and Charley coming up on 4 this month - they still know how to ask some humdingers of questions. I am constantly amazed by the depth of their thoughts on God and life. Also, their observations and perspective on how they see it is truly beautiful to take in.

This is Corrina Robyn at her Baptism in June of 2006:

This is Charles Benjamin at his Baptism in December of 2007:

And now our third and last child, Christopher Roy in front of the Baptismal font for his first Sacrament this November of 2011:

We are so blessed beyond measure that the Lord has entrusted us with these precious gifts. May everyday we live as parents somehow reflect that gratitude, may we continue to grow with our children in holiness, may we someday be worthy enough for these little miracles we were given, and may our children live their lives with the knowledge that they are treasured beyond measure not just on this world or in this life, but through eternity with HIM.

The Gift of a Child
Dear God, I thank You for the gift of this child to raise, this life to share, this mind to help mold, this body to nurture, and this spirit to enrich. Let me never betray this child's trust, dampen this child's hope, or discourage this child's dreams. Help me, dear God, to help this precious child become all You mean him to be. Let Your grace and love fall on him like gentle breezes and give him inner strength and peace and patience for the journey ahead. Amen.
